Commonwealth Aluminum/Aleris through several years of successful Thermbond f4L repairs to Alcor brick belly bands in their large holding furnaces have realized that the Thermbond repairs have outperformed the Alcor brick. Commonwealth has directed their contractor (Gillespie+Powers) to install f2104L instead of the brick belly band. This furnace will be back into production 3-12-07 and will be closely tracked for ease of cleaning and other improvements in service through the melting campaign.
