Problem: Furnace conditions result in high erosion and abrasion which causes residue to build up in the gaps and shift the blocks. Customer required a material that could resist these conditions.
Problem: Operational difficulties and frequent ramp-ups caused the conventional refractory segmented tiles in the 28 burners to become dislodged leaving the burners with exposed bare steel and worn refractory.
Problem: The end user was looking for a way to extend the lifetime of this type of melting furnace. The previous products used in this type of furnace were not holding up to their expectations.
